THE DAY

On a Saturday morning in early June, a Bedfordshire village was busy with final preparations for a long-anticipated wedding at the Emily's childhood church.

After the ceremony the newly-weds travelled in style to their temple reception in a classic green MG. There, they and their guests were met with champagne and a string trio for a relaxing cocktail hour. Both fathers and the groom gave witty and moving speeches before the bride’s brother rowed the couple away in a beautifully restored skiff across the lake to the site of the evening’s celebrations. Narrowly missing a huge and spectacular summer downpour, they dined, drank and danced the night away.
